29 November is a historic date in the struggles of the Palestinian people. Following a decision by the UN General Assembly in 1977 this day was established as an International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people.
For decades, the Palestinian people have been fighting for its right to an independent sovereign state.
Despite the United Nations decisions condemning the settlement of territories as a flagrant violation of international law, Israel continues the colonization of the occupied Palestinian territories with the tolerance of the United States and EU. At the same time continue the arrests, imprisonment, and destruction of infrastructure and the murder even of children.
The culmination of developments against the Palestinian people is the unacceptable decision by the US and President Trab to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The Pancyprian Federation of Labour (PEO) Cyprus expresses its full solidarity with the struggling people of Palestine and its struggle for recognition of its rights and for a free and independent state at the 1967 border and with East Jerusalem as its capital.
