The second day of the 2nd African Conference of the International Trade Union of Agricultural and Food Workers started with the speeches of the delegates of the African countries and the speech of the General Secretary of the WFTU, Comrade G. Mavrikos.
In his speech, he congratulated the leadership of UTS Senegal and comrade Aliou Ndiaye, as well as the leadership of the TUI, for the organization of this positive and important Conference.
He talked about the role of multinationals in food, the ownership of land and how it affects the quality of food. He also stressed the need for internationalism, against capitalist exploitation and imperialism.
Finally, he presented the program of the WFTU for 2019, which is being fixed during this period, by inviting all delegates to the Panafrican Conference of the WFTU to be held on November 1, 2019 in DR Congo.
