The World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), representing 97 million workers in 130 countries around the world, on the occasion of International Migrants Day, greets all our class brothers and sisters who are forced to leave their countries in the search for a better future.
The peoples in every corner of the world suffer the consequences of imperialist policies and the antagonisms of transnationals that seek to generate more wealth for the big capital, plunging the natural resources of the countries. Workers are increasingly threatened by the aggressiveness of imperialism and international imperialist alliances such as the EU, NATO, the IMF and the World Bank. In that sense, the waves of refugees and immigrants are the consequence of these policies.
Therefore, it is urgent that class-oriented trade unions and the world working class offer their solidarity to immigrants who are part of the global workers family, often facing very serious and acute problems. So it is important that class-oriented unions help, group and organize immigrants in the struggle to meet their contemporary needs, against the policies of the bourgeois governments of their respective countries.
There is nothing that divides the world working class; On the contrary, migrant and local workers must join forces for a new society, without exploitation of man by man.
