The World Federation of Trade Unions representing 92 million workers in the 5 continents, strongly denounce the new wave of dismissals and suppression in Bangladesh Garment Sector.
Tens of thousands of workers were protesting during the last weeks demanding the withdraw of previous dismissals and increase of the wages. The protesters were faced the reactionary attacks from the bourgeoisie class and the repression forces. At least 1500 garment workers were fired from the employers and trade unionists have been imprisoned as the protests were stated illegal.
These unacceptable practices aim to terrible the workers and disarm the trade union movement from rights and freedoms which were earned with the struggles and blood of the working class.
The WFTU supports with all its forces the fair demands of the workers. We demand the immediate implementations of demands of the workers who produce everything and are paid with crumbs. We also demand the immediate release of all the workers and trade unionists have been imprisoned. The bourgeoisie efforts for the dissolution of the trade union movement and the silence of the workers will always fail because of the class solidarity and the decisiveness of the workers.
