The World Federation of Trade Union, representing 92 million workers in the five continents expresses its support and solidarity to the workers of Maldives who are facing the impact of the declared Emergency State in their country.
The World Federation of Trade Unions firmly stands on the side of the workers all over the world, struggling with them, for the covering of their contemporary needs and interests.
As WFTU, we demand the ending of the Emergency State and the unobstructed implementation and respect of the workers’ rights and the trade unionist freedoms. We want to assure once again the workers and the popular stratas of Maldives, that they can rely and expect the support and solidarity of the class oriented trade union movement for the satisfy of their fair demands.
