The World Federation of Trade Unions, on behalf of its more than 97 million workers in 130 countries in the 5 continents of the world expresses its internationalist and class solidarity with strike of the workers of GM in the republic of Korea.
The workers in the GM plants and R&D departments in the Republic of Korea are taking dynamic measures against the GM’s anti-labor practices, decisions and policy such as the plant closures, bad treatment of the non-permanent workers, non-full implementation of the collective agreements, etc.
Under this unacceptable situation, the workers are reacting following the example of their colleagues the USA who also went on strike against the global practices of a company which counts fabulous profits, exploiting thousands of workers all over the world.
The international class-oriented trade union movement joins its voice with the GM workers, supporting their struggle and their fair demands for dignified working conditions and salaries, job security for all, respect and implementation of the collective agreement.
