The WFTU, which is the militant voice of 95 million workers in 130 countries all over the world, expresses its strong rejection before the decision of the American President, D. Trump, to authorize this Thursday the border security troops to shoot against the migrant’s caravan of Central America.
At the same time, the North American mandatory has announced the creation of a legal mechanism in order to avoid the assignment of asylum for the wayfarers of Honduras and El Salvador and, at the same time, it will promote the creation of camps in different spots at the borders with Mexico.
These xenophobic and reactionary decisions of the USA bourgeois government cultivate the racism and hatred, hiding the true reasons of the migration; in other words, they do not say anything about the looting of the North American monopolies and the multinationals for the expropriation of the resources of Latin America; they do not say anything about the wars and the military dictatorships which the United States have financed and supported in America; they do not say anything about the imperialist wars that the NATO and their allies have unleashed in every corner of the planet, creating waves of refugees and immigrants.
For the WFTU, the solidarity with the immigrants and the refugees is a principal task of the class trade union movement against capitalism and capitalist exploitation. Therefore, we call the people of America and the working class of the United States to fight in order to cancel out the racist decisions of the United States government. At the same time, once more we point out that the true solution for the workers of all over the world lays in the fight against the causes that provoke poverty and imperialist wars.
