The World Federation of Trade Unions, which represents more than 105 million workers in 133 countries around the world, expresses its solidarity with the employees of Auchan in France, who are facing an unprecedented wave of job cuts!
The announcement by the Mulliez family, billionaires and owners of the Auchan chain, for the cuts of 2,400 jobs and closing at least 4 Auchan supermarkets in France is particularly scandalous.
The WFTU salutes the struggle of the Auchan workers for their jobs, organised by the powerful CGT Trade and Services Federation, affiliated to the WFTU, which has already begun to fight back with a massively invading the Auchan shop in Clermont Ferrand (Auvergne).
Faced with the ruthlessness of capital, workers in the retail sector have no choice but to fight back, and they can rely on their CGT Commerce Federation to lead the way, as well as on the solidarity of the WFTU!
