The World Federation of Trade Unions representing more than 97 million workers in 130 countries, salutes the demonstration which was organized yesterday in Indonesia by the WFTU affiliate, KASBI with Indonesian Alliance workers (GEBRAK) against the government’s program on Omnibus Labour Act, in the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia.
The international class-oriented trade union movement expresses its solidarity with the workers of Indonesia and stands on their side, supporting their struggles for the satisfaction of their contemporary needs.
We strongly condemn the attempt of the bourgeoisie and government of Indonesia for flexible terms of employment, low wages and elimination of the workers’ rights and freedoms. We demand dignified working and living conditions and the unconditional withdrawal of the antilabour act.
