The WFTU General Secretary, cde George Mavrikos, delivered the special prize to cde. Vincent Kapenga Kandolo for the essay he wrote on “WFTU internationalism in DR Congo”, within the framework of the open contest “Write about the WFTU”.
After being evaluated by a 3-member Committee, the essay of cde. Vincent has been awarded the first prize for the African continent as it makes important inputs on the history and workers struggles in DR Congo as well as the big WFTU contribution in the struggle of African workers against monopolies and imperialism.
During the event, cde. Valentin Pacho, WFTU Vice-president from Peru as well as union representatives from Djibouti and South Africa have also been present.
