Thanks to the USB strike call, the shipment of weapons due to transit through the civilian airport in Montichiari, Brescia, has been blocked. This is an important victory in the struggle against the trafficking of war material in our country at a time when the winds of war are blowing stronger than ever, and during the NATO summit, which has led to an unprecedented increase in military spending.
During the gathering, which was attended by solidarity groups and delegations from other cities, such as Genoa, where there is also a fight against arms trafficking at the port, it was made clear that workers reject war. This is precisely why USB has launched a campaign to take strike action in the event of the movement of war material, as well as to promote conscientious objection in research institutions, universities and schools.
Let’s stop the traffic of weapons in Italian ports and airports! Let’s stop the arms race!
