Nakliyat-İş Union orchestrated two significant actions to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and protest against the ongoing massacre and genocide in Gaza and Rafah.
The first protest took place outside the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul. A sizeable gathering of union members and supporters assembled to condemn Zionist Israel’s recent attacks on Palestinian civilians. Ali Rıza Küçükosmanoğlu, Vice President of the World Federation of Trade Unions and President of Nakliyat-İş Union, delivered a powerful press statement in front of the consulate. He vociferously denounced Israel’s actions, labeling them as massacres and genocide against innocent civilians in Gaza and Rafah.
“Our presence here today is a testament to our unwavering support for the Palestinian people,” Küçükosmanoğlu declared. He also added; “We stand against the war crimes committed by Israel and demand an end to the violence and occupation.”
The second protest targeted the SOCAR Company, an Azerbaijan-based firm known for supplying oil to Israel. Protesters gathered outside the company’s premises, voicing their opposition to the transportation of oil to Israel.
Küçükosmanoğlu reiterated the union’s stance during this protest as well, highlighting the inhuman face of imperialist forces. “The support of the USA and EU countries to Israel is undeniable,” he said. “We condemn these imperialist forces for their criminal actions and their role in perpetuating the suffering of the Palestinian people.”
These coordinated protests underscore Nakliyat-İş Union’s commitment to standing in solidarity with Palestinian People and challenging the actions of imperialist states and corporations involved in the genocide in Gaza.
