The Trade Union International of Energy (TUI) in its statement on February 4th says “under the banner of the gallant class oriented World Federation of Trade Union (WFTU), wishes to express strong fraternal and unwavering solidarity to the workers in the oil refineries in the United States who are struggling for better working conditions and better salary.
The oil Refineries refusal to accept the workers the demands of the United Steelworkers Union for an improved collective bargaining agreement has resulted to another dispute which led to the workers strike since Monday the 2nd of February 2015.
The TUI Energy has noted this development and expresses its solidarity with the striking workers and all the workers in the sector.
We then call upon the employers to accept the fair demands of the workers including: guaranteed Health & Safety at work, improved collective agreement and better salaries.”
