The World Federation of Trade Unions on behalf of its 92 million members in 126 countries of the world condemns the arrest of our comrade Pierre Nyemeck Ntamack, Confederal President of CGSTC for daring to denounce to the Authorities a misappropriation amounting to 385.000.000 FCFA of public money.
We consider this act deeply antidemocratic and antipopular. We condemn the authorities of Cameroon for arresting our comrade without any reason. Pierre Nyemeck Ntamack remains imprisoned in the Special Criminal Court of Cameroon in complete violation of his trade union rights.
We condemn in the strongest terms these criminal acts of outsourcers and accomplices of embezzlement of public funds; we request the unconditional release of our comrade Pierre Nyemeck Ntamack and we call the workers of Cameroon to struggle against any attempt to silence the actions of the Cameroonian labor movement and its union leaders who are struggling against the embezzlers of public funds
