The Tourism giant “Thomas Cook” has gone bankrupt leaving more than 21 thousands of workers without a job and affecting thousands of workers in tourism sector worldwide.
This is a development that proves once again that working rights are crashed by the competitiveness of monopolies in every industry, from which neither tourists who overpay their holidays and leisure can escape.
We call the workers of the “Thomas Cook” Group to organize themselves, to come in contact with the militant trade unions in their respective countries , so that nobody is alone against the plans of the multinationals and the hotel employers. Trade unions and workers of this industry in the countries where this group is active must give a coordinated, militant response to ensure the jobs, the wages and the workers’ rights.
The salaries of the workers of “Thomas Cook” group and the workers of the tourism sector that are affected by this development are not negotiable for the WFTU and the militant trade unions!
