The World Federation of Trade Unions, gathering in its ranks more than 92 million workers in 126 countries in the 5 continents, extends its internationalist solidarity with the workers of the J&P Company in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, who face miserable working conditions and flagrant violation of their rights.
The Greek and Cypriot engineers working in J&P construction company denounce the non-payment of the salaries of workers over the last months as well as the refusal of giving them back their visas so that they can leave Saudi Arabia.
The company employs 6.700 workers who cannot cover their basic needs due to their unpaid salaries, they have no medical care and no health and safety measures in their workplace.
We strongly denounce these unacceptable methods of the J&P company that do not respect and put at risk the lives of workers and we demand the immediate payment of their salaries, their social protection and the observation of their rights.
We denounce the authorities of Saudi Arabia for the situation of workers in their land and for the prohibition of their trade union action, while the state of Saudi Arabia is conducting war in Yemen, massacring the people and children of Yemen for the exploitation of their natural resources.
