The WFTU condemns the exclusion of migrants and foreigners from the state disaster relief fund plan of the Republic of Korea. We demand an end to unequal treatment and the discriminations against the workers based on their nationality, their city of residence, or other criteria.
We join our voice with the migrant workers of the Republic of Korea and we demand universal, and unconditional financial support both to local and foreign workers, affected by the consequences of the pandemic, ensuring parity as well as their safe and decent living at a nationwide level.
The Migrants and Refugees Committee on behalf of the 105 million members from 130 countries who are represented by the World Federation of Trade Unions calls upon the migrants and refugees to actively join the class-oriented trade union movement in their countries of residence and to struggle for the common interests of the working class.
