“Filippino workers have a long and heroic history of anti-colonial, anti-dictatorship and progressive struggles. The WFTU affiliates have played important role in those struggles and are continuing to put all their efforts in the defence of the workers rights to open the road for the society without exploitation and capitalist barbarity. The WFTU is in solidarity and supports their struggle. An action plan for the strengthening of the coordination in national and regional level was discussed” commented Alexandra after the WFTU Affiliates and Friends Forum took place on December 7th.
The solidarity of the WFTU and its affiliates was expressed as well conserning the impacts of the typhoons. The necessity of a central strategy and infrastracture for the proper preparation by the state and the public was stressed. A strategy that the capitalist state and mode of production can not provide, leaving millions of people every year especially the working class and poor people in dangerous conditions.
