This morning, at the WFTU Headquarters, a meeting between the Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Athens, Mr. Marwan Emile Toubassi and the WFTU General Secretary George Mavrikos was held.
On behalf of the World Federation of Trade Unions and its 90 million members, the WFTU General Secretary expressed the solidarity and internationalism of the world trade union movement with the just struggle of the Palestinian People for recognition of the Palestinian State within the borders of 1967 and with East Jerusalem as its capital.
During the meeting new initiatives for 2015 on an international level were discussed, aiming to defend the working class of Palestine and the whole Palestinian People.
During the meeting, the General Secretary of the WFTU gave to the Palestinian Ambassador the official document the WFTU senĪ to the General Secretary of the UN Ban Ki Moon, document that the WFTU has already presented to the United Nations Organization HQ in New York.
