The Nepali CONEP celebrated the International Women’s Day and released the following press release on the occasion:
On the occasion of 8th March, Confederation of Nepalese Professionals (CONEP) celebrated 102nd International women workers Day with grand manner in Kathmandu. On the occasion a training oriented seminar on the topic of “International woman workers Day and women workers’ issues” has been organized by CONEP. About 200 professional woman workers had participant in the program. From the chair of chief guest, the vice chairman of CPN UML and former Deputy Prime Minister com. Bamdev Gautam had addressed the seminar similarly CPN UML CC Member and CONEP Incharge Com. Dr Vijay poudel, Politburo Member of CPN UML Com. Asta Laxmi Shakya, senior Vice President Com. Biswanath Pyakurel, General Secretary Com. Premal Kumar Khanal, ILO Representative Mr. Soloman Rajbansi and Advocate com. Bishnu Maya Bhusal also addressed the seminar. In that program, the speakers raised various issues of woman workers. Likewise in the program, WFTU statement on the International womens Day was also highlighted. The program was chaired by CONEP Vice President and Chief of women Dept. Com. Prabha Bajracharya. Welcome speech was delivered by Deputy General Secretary Com. Udaya Sharma and the programe was anchored by Com. Mohan Kumari Shahi. In the beginning of the program an International Song was sang by Senior Progressive Singer Com. Ram Krishna Duwal and CONEP Member Com. Bikram Mainali.
Likewise 8 March Program also celebrated out of Kathmandu valley.
