It has been 1 year since the Soma Massacre, which occurred on May 13 2014. As we can remember, officially 301 mineworkers were killed in Soma Mines because of the lack of the simplest precautions. Nothing has been done to compensate the loss of the families of the victims of this disaster.
To protest this situation, Nakliyat İş made a protest on the anniversary day of the massacre in the Warehouse in Topkapı with the participation of 1000 affiliated workers.
The workers didn’t start working at their usual time. The president of Nakliyat İş, Ali Rıza Küçükosmanoğlu issued a press release. In his statement, he underlined that, the same circumstances that killed officially 301 mineworkers still exist in Turkey. He also stated that the life conditions of mineworkers and all working class are getting worse and worse in Turkey and the government is responsible fort his case.
