Letter of the World Federation of Trade Unions to the 5 Cuban antiterrorist fighters.
This letter was adopted at the WFTU International Conference held on September 13-14, 2011 at the European Parliament premises in Strasbourg, France, in which participated 23 trade unions representing 17 countries.

Dear brothers,
In occasion of the 13th anniversary of your unfair imprisonment in US jails, the World Federation of Trade Unions on behalf of 80 million members in 120 countries, wishes to send you this message of encouragement.
Since we were informed over your case, we have converted it in our cause and we support you in every podium and international space. We are following with special attention every information over your case. We are happy with your happiness and we suffer with every unfairness, humiliation and bad committed against you and your families.
The WFTU and their members know about the hostile policy of the imperialism of the United States, the NATO and their allies against the Cuban Revolution for more than 50 years, all the efforts and means used to win you, as well as the complicity, cover and support to terrorism organized against Cuba from the US territory. We know that you risked your life in order to protect the lives of more than 11 millions of Cubans and avoid the death of innocent people due to possible terrorist acts. The US imperialism has discharged over you all their anger and impotency because of not being able to overthrow the Cuban Revolution and so they have punished you severely, meanwhile they protects in its territory terrorists like Luis Posada Carriles. Our verdict is that you are INNOCENT.
Brothers, we now that in these 13 years your lives have been dark and solitary in the US jails. We know that you suffered arbitrary arrest, isolation, inhuman treatment, psychological tortures and restrictions to contact your families. However, in these 13 years, your lives were also full of light, as your example of dignity, firmness, braveness, resistance and patriotism gained the admiral, support and solidarity of millions of people all over the world. You haven’t been alone and every day, there are more people supporting you.
You have to know that you are a motive of inspiration inside and outside Cuba, that the powerful light coming out from your example will not be put out and the injustice committed against you cannot be silenced.
We transmit you our hopes that sooner or later, truth and justice will be imposed and
you will be free, next to your relatives and your people.
Next October 3rd, in the framework of the WFTU foundation, we are organizing an International Action Day and your freedom is part of our claims.
In this 13th anniversary of your unfair and cruel imprisonment, WFTU promises to continue adding up voices of trade union organizations from all 5 continents as regards your case and we will not cease our actions until your final liberation.
