Dear comrade Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, General Secretary of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba,
Struggling workers and people of Cuba,
On behalf of the World Federation of Trade Unions, I extend you our fraternal greetings and congratulations on the anniversary of the 86 years since the foundation of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba. These congratulations belong to the heroic workers and the of Cuba, who despite the murderous embargo and the imperialist interventions all these decades, continue to keep the flag of the Revolution high.
The achievements of the Cuban working class, lead by the CTC, are pervasive and evident in the daily life and living standards of Cuban workers. Health, education, family policy, housing, are just a few examples that demonstrate that the struggles and demands of the CTC for 86 years, have already excelled.
The contribution of the CTC for the workers’ struggles was not limited to the Cuban borders. Steeped in internationalist solidarity, Cuba and the CTC has long been an example of cooperation and mutual aid among the peoples of the world, sending brigades of doctors, teachers, and more. Through the ranks of the WFTU, and being a part of its leadership, the CTC had always been an example of internationalism in the region of Latin America and in the whole world.
Dear comrades,
The international class-oriented trade union movement expresses its full international solidarity with the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba, who by their example inspire workers internationally. We join our voice with the struggling people of Cuba, in their longstanding and just demand for an end to the murderous blockade and for the permanent removal of the country from the list of countries that “allegedly sponsor terrorism”. The heroic Cuba has overcome all adversities, difficulties, and attacks over the years and will continue to resist, will continue to promote peace, brotherhood, and solidarity among the peoples and the workers of the world.
