The World Federation of Trade Unions, representing 92 million workers in 126 countries all over the world, expresses its support and solidarity with daily wagers and with workers who have contracts at the Ministry of Electricity in Iraq. Daily wagers electricity workers were dismissed after participating in a protest at the end of March about the nonpayment of their salaries for several months.
As the world’s militant trade union movement, we demand the rehiring of these workers, as well as the respect of their trade union freedoms and the full protection of their rights.
