At the call of Construction Workers Federation of India (CWFI) (CITU) a massive workers rally held at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on 06.04.2015. More than 10,000 workers assembled from 21 states of our country namely West Bengal, Tripura, Manipur, Odissa, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Pandichery, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Kerala.
The workers rally was presided over by R. Singaravelu, President of CWFI. The rally was addressed by Comrade A. K. Padmanabhan, President, CITU. He narrated about the government of India policies which are effecting the day to day life of Indian working class. Labour Laws are being amended to snatch the trade union rights. Employers are getting more and more power to crash the trade movement. The workers of transport industry, postal department employees, defence employees, central government employees, railway employees are on the road of struggle and going to have their strike. You the construction workers also going to observe one day national strike on 1st June 2015. You prepare yourself and campaign your demands at the grass root level so that you strike will be successful.
Comrade Tapan Sen, General Secretary, CITU and Member of Parliament address the gathering and told that this Modi government is trying their best in different ways to divide the working class on the question of religion, language etc. We should be very conscious to foil this type of disruptive activities of BJP government. Your mammoth rally will give you a moral boost up to make your strike successfully on 1st June 2015.
Comrade Sampath, Member of Parliament, CPI(M) address the gathering and urged for bigger national level struggle of construction workers to realize their demands. He hope that the 1st June 2015 national strike will be great success.
Comrade Debanjan Chakrabarti, General Secretary, CWFI address the gathering and explain the demand to be submitted before the Labour Minister, and Minister for External affairs and Indian Overseas employment. The government of India must take necessary steps to implement the construction workers welfare fund scheme in all the states and union territories in a proper way.

Under the leadership of Comrade Tapan Sen (M.P) a delegation comprising of Comrade K.V.Jose, Comrade Malathi Chittibabu, Comrade Suresh Routroy, Comrade Bhanwar Singh, Comrade Prem Goutam met Madam Sushmaswaraj, MIC External Affairs and Indian Overseas employment, Government of India, submitted the memorandum and the Minister concern assure the delegation of taking necessary steps for protection of India immigrant construction workers those who are facing trouble abroad. She assured to give us her valued opinion on our memorandum shortly.
Another delegation with the leadership of Comrade Tapan Sen, M.P and Comrade Sankar Dutta, M.P and Comrade R. Singaravelu, Comrade T.K. Achutan, Comrade Arakan Balan, Comrade Naba Mahanty, Comrade Sunil Sarkar, Comrade Sanyasi Dalui, Comrade Sukhbir Singh, Comrade Kottam Raju, and Comrade M.H. Seikh met the labour minister Shri Bandaru Dattatreya, Government of India, submitted memorandum. The Minister express his concern over the issues to the delegation and assured to take necessary actions within a short time.
