George Mavrikos, General Secretary of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), will be visiting Cuba from November 15 as part of his present tour of Latin American nations.
As organizing for his tour in Latin America, Mavrikos has participated in the Congress of the Bolivarian Federation of Venezuelan Workers and from there he traveled to Panama where he attended the Congress of CNTP.
During his stay on the island, Mavrikos will be holding talks with leaders of the Confederation of Cuban Workers (CTC) and groups with an important work in production and services.
Already the WFTU delegation accompanied by the General Secretary of Cuba National Health Workers Union has visited the Central Unit of Medical Collaboration which organizes the solidarity missions of doctors and medical stuff to combat Ebola in Africa. In total 50,000 medical staff have been sent abroad and are operating in benefit of the people in need worldwide.
Continuing their program in Cuba, the WFTU Delegation took part in the event of recognition to militants who have collaborated with the WFTU Regional Office of Latin Ameriva and the Caribbean.
WFTU General Secretary will be in Cuba until the 18th of November.
