Continuing his visit in Bangladesh, today on February 4th 2017, the General Secretary of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), George Mavrikos, paid homage to the victims of Rana Plaza collapse placing a wreath at a temporary altar in Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka.
He placed the floral wreath at the temporary altar near the collapsed building area Saturday morning (February 4).
Leaders and activists of different organizations, and injured laborers and relatives of the workers, who died in the factory building collapse, were present here.
After paying homage, he talked to some of the victims’ families.
Earlier, he placed a floral wreath at the National Memorial commemorating the valiant sons of the land who sacrificed their lives during the War of Liberation in 1971.
Later this day he visited a leather factory in north Dhaka, where the workers welcomed him with great enthusiasm and discussed with him about the situation of their sector and their movement.
