On 19th of February, the WFTU participated in the opening ceremony of the 17th COB Ordinary National Congress in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia; its slogan is: “Faced with the reactionary offensive..revolutionary unity”. In a spirit of internationalism and solidarity, c. Valentin Pacho, WFTU Vice President, addressed the Bolivian delegates, reaffirming the support of the big WFTU trade union family against the imperialist interference. At the same time, the COB leaders and affiliates thanked the WFTU for the support it gave them during their union fights.
Earlier in the morning, c. Valentin Pacho participated in a work meeting with the Federations leaders of the historic Bolivian central organisation in order to wish them every success in their works.
The works of the Congress will continue during this week.
