The resident doctors in Algeria have decided to continue their strike and protests that started in November 2017, while their demands include the suspension of mandatory civil service for Algerian doctors, exemption from compulsory military service, better pedagogical training, decent residence for doctors, salary increase and maternity leaves for women resident doctors during the four year period of their service.
The indifference that resident doctors face from the Algerian authorities as well as the heavy repression of their protests must stop. The WFTU firmly supports their struggle for the improvement of their working conditions.
