In a uniting and militant atmosphere the 4th meeting of the Presidential Council of the World Federation of Trade Unions was held in the heroic city Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam.
The Presidential Council adopted the Report 2009 that gives a full and detailed picture of the action taken place in the past year.
There was a common estimation that the WFTU conquered a new level and a new quality in its action.
At the same time in Vietnam the new ACTION PLAN 2010 for our organization was adopted which will vigorously promote in the new period.
The Action Plan 2010 is very ambitious plan. It includes many activities and initiatives at sectoral, regional and national level.
In all countries and all sectors the WFTU has a concrete program. In all International Organisations has a framework of interventions.
The Internationalism and the solidarity, the international economic crisis and the struggles of workers had their own presence in the deliberations of the Presidential Council.
Friday, September 10, 2010 was designated as the International Day of Action of the class-oriented international trade union movement.
At this meeting, with enthusiasm and optimism it was unanimously voted the call of the 16th World Trade Union Congress to be held in April 2011 in Athens, the capital city of Greece. The slogans of the 16th Congress were also adopted.
