The World Federation of Trade Unions, which is the militant voice of 105 million workers who live and struggle in 133 countries all over the world, reiterates its internationalist solidarity to the workers and People of Yemen, who have been suffering since the outbreak of the war against Yemen in 2015.
Hundreds of thousands of Yemeni workers lost their income due to the increased unemployment, triggered by the closure of major companies and destruction of agriculture, fisheries and livestock resources. Furthermore, the relocation of the Central Bank has been depriving one million and two hundred public servants from their salaries for four years, while state employees have not received their salaries either.
The worlds’ class-oriented trade union movement urges the responsible authorities to immediately pay the Yemeni workers’ accrued salaries. We demand the end of the air, land and sea blockade imposed on Yemen and the protection of the peoples’ work and lives.
We call upon the International Organizations to play their role and support the Yemeni workers not just in words but in practice. We once more extend our support and solidarity to the toiling Yemeni workers who have been suffering for six years from the imperialist intervention and conflicts in their country.
