The World Federation of Trade Unions expresses its sincere condolences to the families and friends of the 6 miners who lost their lives in the new coal-mine accident that occurred in Kalat district in Balochistan, Pakistan. The miners died of suffocation because of the inhaling a poison gas that spread after an explosion happen in the coal mine.
The 6 miners were added in the endless list which numbers hundreds of deaths in the Pakistan mines the last years. The World Federation of Trade Unions and the class oriented trade union movement continue their long-term and relentless struggle for the determination of high standard of safety measures in the mines and at all aspects of workers’ life. Also we demand the investigation of the conditions of the accident and punishment of the responsible ones.
