The World Federation of Trade Unions, representing more than 95 million members in the 5 continents of the world, denounces the anti-labour and authoritarian policies of the Duterte’s government.
The ‘Hanjin’ s bankruptcy’ reaffirms the nature of the structural capitalist crisis which affect the lives of the workers and popular strata in Philippines as well as in the whole world.
The reaction of the government over the ‘Hanjin’ s bankruptcy’ shows once again the anti-labour orientation and the serving of the capitalist profits, remaining indifferent of the affected workers rights and their benefits.
The WFTU and the international class-oriented trade union movement express their solidarity with the Hanjin’s workers and demand the ensuring of their interests. We call the working class of Philippines to join the ranks of the class-oriented trade union movement and struggle against the police which widens the poverty, social inequality and insecurity, increases the underemployment and the flexible work and reduces the standard of living.
