The World Federation of Trade Unions representing 92 million workers in the 5 continents stands on the side of garment workers of Bangladesh who are struggling, demanding monthly dignified minimum wages.
The garment industry gives extremely low wages to the workers although garments constitute the vast majority of Bangladesh’s exports. The WFTU expresses its support and solidarity to the militant struggles of the class oriented trade union movement and the working class of Bangladesh.
We demand the prompt satisfaction of the demanding monthly dignified minimum wages and the implementation of dignified working conditions with adequate protection measures. The international class oriented trade union movement will not tolerate slaves in the 21th century.
