The World Federation of Trade Unions, representing 105 million workers in 130 countries of the 5 continents, strongly condemns the raids of the Australian police on offices and premises of CFMEU for investigations under the Fair Work Act.
It is obvious, that the goal of such anti-union practices is to undermine the trade union freedoms and struggles by targeting and impeding workers’ unions and trade unionists. The attempt of putting obstacles in the way of those who are struggling is an everlasting tactic of the capitalist governments aiming at the silencing of the workers’ voice against the attacks of the bourgeoisie.
We stand by the side of the Australian workers who are defending their interests, jobs, and wages. We demand the withdrawal of all anti-labor laws which are used as a mere pretext for the elimination of the right of association and trade union freedoms. The international class-oriented trade union movement assures once again the workers all over the world who struggle for dignified working and living conditions that they can always rely on the support and solidarity of the WFTU.
