The Pancyprian Federation of Labour (PEO) of Cyprus expresses on behalf of the working people of Cyprus its class solidarity with and support of the strike mobilizations the working class of France is waging on 12th September against the new anti-labour policies promoted being promoted by the Macron government.
At the core of these policies are the imposition of cuts in various social benefits and the drastic upgrading of Business Collective Agreements to the detriment of the sectoral collective agreements so that capital and large companies can constantly readjust salaries, working hours and generally working people’s terms of employment and conditions. It will also facilitate the liberalization of workers’ redundancies, which in essence promotes further deregulation of labor relations.
The mobilizations of the working class of France show in the most characteristic way that the attack on the rights of the working class is not an issue that concerns only France, but also working people throughout Europe since it is a united attack on them. Working people’s class struggles and the co-ordination of actions are imperative in order to combat the vicious anti-social policies of the European Union and capitalism’s attacks that are leading the peoples to poverty and impoverishment.
We assure the French working people that we are solidarity with their struggles and wish every success in the strike action of 12th September.
