GOVERNMENT INSISTS ON IGNORING THE IMPORTANCE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOUR
We believe Department of Labour has a key position in working life. Either in fighting against employers who illegally and illicitly employing, or in terms of qualified functionality at occupational health and safety inspections, Department of Labour has an extreme importance in our country.
However, we have to say that because of all past governments remaining insensitive to it’s needs , Department of Labour getting to the point of losing it’s functionality. Many workers retired and despite our warnings no permanent worker has employed to the Department of Labour since 2005. In this respect, we demand the Government to create officer, labour inspector and technical inspector vacancies urgently. Besides, since the Legislation of Department of Labour hasnt changed entirely since long time, operational malfunctions initiated. In this regard, as the authorised trade union in Ministry of Labour, we demand a technical meeting to be held urgently for amending the laws of Department of Labour.
In consideration of above, we want to emphasize that there are serious inadequacies in all districts and in all sections of the Department of Labour and with this strike we going on today, we will wait for the Government’s step.
