The workers of different sectors we represent throughout the World are suffering from the serious economic, political, social and cultural crisis, which is a consequence of the deep crisis of the capitalist system, generated by the transnational corporations, the national oligarchies, the USA, the European Union, the IMF and the World Bank.
Dismissals, unemployment, casual labour, salary cuts, loss of social rights are the consequences hitting the working class, but not those who are responsible for the capitalist system crisis.
As workers in Transport, Fisheries and Communication, we must react, organise and struggle for our labour and social rights. The crisis has a global dimension; therefore the workers’ response must be coordinated and capable of uniting our actions, so that we may strongly hit transnational corporations and neoliberal governments.
We call on the Trade Unions in every Continent to attend this important World Congress and invite you to join the Transport, Fisheries and Communications TUI- Sector Organisation of the World Federation of Trade Unions – WFTU. The unity of the class oriented Trade Unions is crucial in the struggle against exploitation and changes at work, going forward to build a socialist, humanist, democratic, internationalist and solidary society.
