On May 17, 9 Danish comrades from the construction sector attended a trade union training program, organized at the WFTU Head Office in Athens, Greece.
The seminar took place in the framework of the WFTU educational agenda for young trade unionists on topical and modern issues of modern trade union movement.
The unionists were welcomed by cde Valentin Pacho, WFTU Vicepresident from the CGTP of Peru who, during his speech, highlighted the importance of class-oriented training for the young generation of trade unionists.
The first subject which was addressed today was related with “corruption as a phenomenon in society and in trade unions”, underlining the intertwining between capitalism and corruption and presented by cde Christoforos Giakoumelos, WFTU counselor. The second one was presented by cde Massah Matebisi, WFTU counselor from the NUM South Africa, under the subject of “The South African landscape – the case of the construction sector”.
The seminar works will continue tomorrow.
