We are shocked to hear the demise of Com. Sankar Saha, President of AIUTUC on the 31st May 2021 at Calcutta at the age of 81 years. We convey our deepest condolences on the parting away of Com. Sankar Saha.
AIUTUC is an affiliate of WFTU for a very long time and Com Sankar Saha as its functionary and as the General secretary played a vital and unforgettable revolutionary role throughout his tenure. On behalf of the WFTU the Deputy General Secretary attended the AIUTUC conference held in MARCH 2020 where Com. Sankar Saha was elected as President in Dhanbad, India.
During a long span of 6 decades of dedicated service to the working class nationally and internationally, Com. Sankar Saha stood firmly with the class oriented ideology and contributed his might towards achieving Proletarian Internationalism and to overthrow the exploitation by the capitalist system. He played a notable and good work in the ILO conferences and international fora.
The AIUTUC in particular and Indian working class movement in general lost a fighter leader. WFTU pays deepest homage to the departed leader.
