Focusing on the double exploitation of working women and the struggle of the workers movement for their rights, the Trade Union Seminar held on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the WFTU in Algeria was completed with success. Organized by SNAPEST and held on 3-4 June in Algiers, the Seminar analyzed the progress of the struggle for the womens rights during the previous century and the long road ahead for the equality and the improvement of the working and living conditions of the working women and the popular family.
Key Speakers in the Seminar where brother Meziane Meriane, President of SNAPEST, sister Alexandra Liberi and brother Mohammed Iqnaibi WFTU Representatives as well as Algerian trade unionists and specialists who shared their experience with the participants.
During the honorary ceremony for the 70th Anniversary of the WFTU at an Art Exhibition created by workers and trade unionists, SNAPEST and WFTU honoured Louiza Ighil Ahriz for her role in the anticolonial liberation struggle while Abdelmajid Azzi, veteran trade union leader presented his book on the history of the trade union movement in Algeria.
