Begins the First International Conference on Trade Union Youth in Lima – Peru

Youth 2The First International Conference on Trade Union Youth organized by the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) and the CGTP began yesterday November 18th in Lima, Peru. The conference will run until November 20. This activity will bring together young trade unionists from all five continents. The objective is to promote integration among workers under 35 years old and to establish united action to defend their social and union rights.

Youth leaders from participating countries took part at the opening ceremony, as well as the General Secretary of CGTP Mario Huaman and the representative of the WFTU, Valentin Pacho. The opening speech was made by the President of the Peruvian Nationalist Party, Commander Ollanta Humala.

Youth 1Countries participating in the conference include Peru, Cuba, Nigeria, Nepal, India, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Greece, Cyprus, Ecuador, Bolivia, Argentina, Portugal, USA, France, etc.

It is worth mentioning that this activity is part of the efforts by the CGTP and the WFTU to promote their relations in the trade union movement, to continue the struggle for a more fair and fraternal world.
